Abstract In chapter 3 of Delusions and Beliefs , Kengo Miyazono argues that, when delusions are pathological beliefs, they so due to their being both harmful malfunctional. this brief commentary, I put pressure on Miyazono’s account as malfunctioning beliefs. No might satisfy the malfunction criterion some fail harmfulness such conditions interpreted criteria for end, raise a general concern about attributing status single beliefs out context, gesture towards idea pathology failure agency which can contribute but that only be identified by considering person whole.
